rump
As far as I know they are sort of neutral, they are not fired upon and they don't report enemy positions. (like ambulance vehicles).Somebody correct me if I'm wrong...- Rump
Moderators Volcano Posted February 25, 2011 Moderators Share Posted February 25, 2011 Yes, give the car to Red and make it Blind. Also, in the damage list damage the "Radio" and "Troops". That should give the desired result I think. (Blind keeps them for spotting, damaging Radio will keep their location from being reported on the map of that side, and damaging the Troops is a fail safe to make sure it does not carry some troops that might shoot, although making it Blind should make this unnecessary - it is just a precaution).
Hedgehog
Do cars carry troops as standard then?
Tacbat
Yes, I think that's right.
Moderators Volcano Posted February 25, 2011 Moderators Share Posted February 25, 2011 Do cars carry troops as standard then? Yes they do, in order to allow the Scenario Designer to customize the cars to be what they want them to be. The idea is that a scenario can have Computer controlled cars, Blind, no troops, no radio that either sit around or drive around on paths, and also have some cars that belong to that side which can be used to drive around and "watch" the other side, or dismount troops (insurgents) to cause problems. Penalize Blue for killing the "neutral" cars so that they cannot go around killing everything in sight and you might have an interesting scenario.
pigdog
If I make the car red and blind, wont computer controlled blue units still fire on it?
Moderators Volcano Posted February 26, 2011 Moderators Share Posted February 26, 2011 No, the AI will never fire on a car unless it sees troops get out of it (and even then it might only fire on the troops).
Members Ssnake
Of course, this is just an intermediary solution. The goal is to introduce multiple sides to SB Pro. To get SOME capability quickly we created something of a workaround that would get you non-hostile and irregular forces within the constraints of a Red/Blue party system.
