Scrapper_511
At one point, couldn't you see main gun rounds ricochet off the ground. This was a pretty cool effect. What happened to it?
Pika
Pretty sure they still do. Sure I saw a round bounce when I was messing around in the Firing Range. Maybe I imagined it though.

Moderators Volcano Posted March 18, 2011 Moderators Share Posted March 18, 2011 Sometimes they don't ricochet on purpose, it depends on the hardness of the ground in that particular spot and something else (angle of attack?). I was in a game the other day, saw 105mm KE round fly through T-72M side, out the back and ricochet into the sky. Very nice. :smilelove-1:
Members Ssnake
There is a certain degree of randomness in it, yes. After all, beneath a shallow layer of normal dirt sometimes you can find a rather large boulder, so the assumption of a homogeneous ground stucture and density is not justified.
mp96
Will ever simulate such damage?
Members Ssnake
We are already simulating it, we just don't visualize ... yet.
mp96
Visualize DAMAGE in future [?]
Gibsonm
Visualize DAMAGE in future [?]He means “show it“For example currently if you get say a “GPS Damage” report all you know is the GPS no longer works, eventually he means that there will be something displayed on the turret (a gouge mark in the armour or stuff smashed off, etc.) to reflect the damage as well.So now the damage is recorded and its impact taken into consideration, but its not displayed (arguable the least important of the three so I guess that’s why its last) graphically on the model.
Scrapper_511
Oh yeah, it's still there. Sorry 'bout the premature inquiry.
