Battle for Hünfeld Scenario

Maybe 2 Weeks, roads are all there but not in the right place.......

It´s a PITA to check all distances by google Maps and switch from Map Editor to Sce. Editor to do so....go back to Map Editor to do the changes and go back to Sce. Editor to check again, a.s.o.

I´ll keep you informed ;-=

BTW: Do you know Hünfeld is the Konrad Zuse City? The Father of all modern Computers .....

What would he think about all this......

Well, Zuse's electronic computers were the first that actually worked. The ones in Bletchley Park were bigger of course, but came a few years later. Babbage was the first who had the principles right (along with Ada Lovelace), but lacked the industrial base to get a working specimen.

Your dedication to this map, attention to detail and patience is amazing and appreciated! Out of interest, when do you think it may be available for download? I have a scenario featuring 11th ACR c.1988 in mind that I'm thinking of working on but I don't want to start it without this map. Please note, I'm definitely not trying to rush you... :D

That's the beauty of Soviet VU, you can always get involved with a good cold war scrapping match type scenario. :)

It´s a little like Sim City... ;-)

It´s more work I accepted for HÜNFELD

- Making a new Skin for the German Flashlight in Front of Railway Crossings

- We need Sidewalks for nearly all Roads in Hünfeld

- Haune River must be exactly in the right Place, otherwise we have 10 Meter deep Holes in the City area

a.s.o.

In Vers. 2.6x it´s a PITA to Maneuver KI Units through the Towns, hope this goes better with 3.0!

You want HÜNFELD in HD, so you get it!

But there are some Thinks to be noticed:

- You will never go with mech. Units in the Center of the City

- I/we need more detailed Skins (I made a "Commercial Cubus" out of a ME Building, but....)

- Some Templates of the Building Skins would be useful to eliminate Parts that are not needed

- Creating the Navmashes for 3.0 crash my Computer ;-)

- It take much more Time to make HÜNFELD in 1:1

Excellent work! Love what you doing! :) :)

I'm also wondering... with the 3.0 upgrade... we can see soldiers moving in rooms in a building. More mapbuilders move buildings in/over other buildings to create different looks of excisting buildings. How will the AI soldiers react on this? They dont get stuck in rooms?

I think move one Building over another would not work for 3.0 correct.

What I made and what I try to do is to create "special Spots" you can point at.

At my point of view it is a very important aspect of combined Force Tactic, the Infantry Man must be able to point out a specific House to call for Fire of the Tanks.

But that would not work with 3.0 with that account of Buildings.... so the next Year work is prepared.....
