NickMow
Couple of questions. Can I now add an ATGM team to an APC ? if so how ?On the Blue side when I deploy a missile team I only seem to get the option for the TOW varients in ammunition, how would I get say a Javelin team ?
NickMow
Missile load out problem sorted, now just need to get the boys some transport !
Members Ssnake
In the Mission Editor, create a transport vehicle platoon, unload the troops, and delete them. Now you have transport capacity for the missile teams. Load them during the execution phase just like you would tow a vehicle with an M88.
NickMow
Thanks Nils, appreciate your patience and help. Not as much as I appreciate your remarkable Sim and the tremendous work and passion you and the team put into it !
NickMow
Further query, anyway this can be done using AI/mission editor, so I can have Enemy (or friendly) AI mobile ATGM teams ?

rump
Also, when you have two squads loaded and you want them to unload on two different positions, make sure you unload the last loaded squad first. Otherwise both squads will be unloaded.First thought this was a bug but then realized that I was unloading the first loaded squad first. The logic behind this (I guess) is that the last loaded squad needs to get out off the way and also gets unloaded. Not sure this is new for 2.640.- Rump

rump
Just found out that troops can survive when you shoot down a helo loaded with troops. (MRH-90 shot down from normal flight height with RBS 70).So if you want to be sure, unload the troops in the mission editor.- Rump

rump
Couldn't reproduce this. Scenario? See attached for a simple scenario. I originally noticed it in a different scenario, but that's a work in progress. I was able to reproduce it in this test scenario. See pic and the report in the zip file together with the scenario. (didn't show in AAR) Edit: Replaced the RBS 70 with Tunguska. Now the troops show up in the AAR. (see Helo troops AAR.zip) Thanks, Rump Helo troops test.zip Helo troops AAR.zip
cata
Bug = Regards manning an MG INF unit, once a team/section member has been shot you can no longer man the MG!? seems to be a onetime deal, unlike the missile/HMG/AG teams.
Tacbat
See attached for a simple scenario. Thanks Rump, I see the same thing you are. The middle chopper usually spawns a troop(s) when it crashes. Maybe it's a feature (auto-rotation). I'll pass it along.

Moderators Volcano Posted December 13, 2011 Moderators Share Posted December 13, 2011 AFAICR, it is a feature that some of the troops might survive a helicopter crash (just like how some troops in a PC survive a vehicle kill). However the chance of a troops surviving the helicopter kill is much less than that of troops from a dead PC. FWIW, when a bug is suspected (or if it is uncertain) these kinds of posting would be much more at home in the Support Forum, so that they get the proper attention they deserve.

You have a point there, might not be a bug, just a feature. But it is at least something to keep in mind. (that troops can survive and thus be in that area) Thanks, - Rump
Tacbat
Rump, can you double check that the surviving troops didn't have any ammo? I think that's what I remember seeing...
rump
In my tests, surviving troops DO have ammo.- Rump
