Grenny
Right, that seems to be a bug, just checking if that one's been reported yet.edit: checked for the bug, and weather it already was reported. Nope...bug is reported now
LoupGarou
actually I did report it a couple of versions ago, but apparently it slipped through, anyway it's reported now and I'm looking forward to pop multispectral smoke again :clin: hehe
Hedgehog
I think "armoured cars" are severely lacking in SB.Although we have the Centauro and the ASLAV-25I'd like more cars of a pre 1985 vintage.Panhards, Ferrets, Saladins, ElandsYou know, stuff used in Africa. The French cars have a lot of panache. More French Stuff!!

Marko
BRDM-2BRDM-2Well technically the BRDM-2 is a Combat Reconnaissance Patrol vehicle. although it is often Used as a Armoured car by third world army's.The inclusion of vehicles like the AML-90 Rooikat etc. would add some extra Variety to the Type of mission a user could create,The majority of SB players enjoy the whole cold war scenarios (as do I) but variety is what keeps SB fresh. Even for a sim that's over ten years old. IMO they don't even have to be playable.Ssnake has already stated the focus on the next update will be on improving what we Already have in the sim and the new engine of course. And I would whole heartedly agree with that strategyEven if it means we wont get as many new vehicles types as in previous updates But a few types of armoured cars IMO would be a very worthy addition.

Lt DeFault
Please don't forget crews for the trucks and vehicles....Those ghost/unmanned, open top, jeeps are pretty scary when they drive all by themselves!Although a seemingly minor improvement, this one is high on my list, as well.

So is the Fox, Ferret, etc. I guess Armoured Car is a broad definition. Hmmm, thinks: An SA supported leftist hippie conclave vs a Fascist right wing dictatorship backed by Chinese partners, fighting for mineral rights in Umbababoaland, Sub Tropical Africa. Armoured car bush wars anyone? If you're interested: http://www.steelbeasts.com/sbforums/showthread.php?p=271229#post271229
JustSomeGuy
If a new engine is underway, I'd like to ask for ability of vehicle crews (not dismounted troops) to abandon and then re-crew their tank/IFV.That way, it would be possible to somewhat lower loses on Blue side (order tank's crew to abandon immobilized vehicle and retreat into cover) simulate more realistically routed Red side (Iraqi tankers fleeing their tanks in ODS, for example) simulate ad-hoc ambushes with hopeless technology (T-55 in side street takes 1 shot at passing T-90 or Abrams and then the crew dashes out for safety) realistically re-crew vehicles where crew has been killed but vehicle itself could be repaired "spice up" scenarios with the need of unpredictable, real-time-generated CSAR missions ;-)Another feature I hope for would be losing threads. That's one "T-72: Balkans on fire" feature I really miss in SB: hitting enemy tank into thread and watching as the thread slowly unrolls behind the vehicle which begins turning until it comes to partially immobilized halt. Although I dare to assume this one might already be on The List.
Members Ssnake
Another feature I hope for would be losing threads.Already there, except that we don't visualize the upper track falling from idler and return rollers. Surely it'd be nice but our priorities lie elsewhere. That the tracks are gone and the tank can no longer drive straight must suffice for now.
Reini
Hi SB community! I am very new to your forum but not new to Steel Beasts :clin:. Thanks to Sean's instructions I was able to convert most of my old SB Gold scenarios to SB Pro PE. As I was playing the old "blind Elephant" scenario (where you have to get your tanks through infantry infested woods) I noticed one thing: the infantry seems to be able to bury themselves within a few seconds into the ground vanishing from all my sights. Of course as soon as I turn my turret they rise again and cover me with RPGs . And I am not talking about hiding behind a slope no they drop right into the ground. Maybe this is intended but I think they can bury themselves way too fast. I am also sorry if this has already been posted but I have to admit that I have not read all sites in the content wish list. Besides from that I am very happy with SB Pro PE :luxhello: and I hope that I soon will be able to play a TGIF match with you! All the best from Austria
Lt DeFault
Welcome to the forums!I think you can adjust the amount of "cover" (i.e. how much the infantry sink) by adjusting the terrain properties in the editor.

Grenny
So in the one thread we have people asking to improve infantry concealment and others commenting that infantry concealment is too good. Well, currently a squad in a building can be detected from 6 miles away and more...I rest my case ;-)
Reini
Haha I have nothing against infantry concealment. :clin: And I am aware that especially the "blind elephants" scenarios were designed to show the weaknesses of tanks in wooded areas where the infantry is much more flexible. But it is hard to describe (sorry english is not my first language :c:), i wish i could send you a gif or a short video. But there is this guy pointing his RPG-29 at me and then in a split second he "magically" disappears. This has nothing to do with concealment, this is simply unrealistic. Not even the Green Beret from the "Commandos" games was that fast.
Hedgehog
Squint harder! Not everything can be animated in the infinitesimally small amount of "Free time" eSim has.
Marko
IMO,SB does a pretty good job with infantry there are some bug issues that still need resolving In the past I have been critical of infantry AI myself.I think sometimes we expect to much from SB So I have came to the conclusion if you want an infantry simulation buy something like Arma if You Want CAS in a sim buy DCS. if you want armour buy SB.All are good at there specific Specialists areas. But none can comprehensively cover every weapons platform with a high level of fidelityWho knows maybe the new engine esim are working on will allow some sort of modular system like DCS. Or one of there military customers hands them a big fat cheque to Incorporate more/different types of weapon platforms and better infantry
MAJ_Fubar
What Marko said...the plain truth, but that still won't stop me from hankering for a bit more. Say like the ability to generate fire mission data using the M1A2's far target designating ability, or at least using it to generate generic TRPs that can then be sent to others during multi-player missions.
