DanishTanker
Hey, I'm new here The two things I'd like to see the most for now are in regards to the Leopard 2: 1. Attica Thermal Imager for the Commander periscope AND Gunner sight! (provides variable zoom up to 50x + an additional 8x digital zoom): http://www.upi.com/Business_News/Security-Industry/2014/06/18/Cassidian-upgrading-gunner-commander-sights-on-tanks/5321403100421/ http://www.army-technology.com/news/newscassidian-to-support-several-nato-states-leopard-2-tanks-modernisation-4296696 2. Hedgehog
The ability to instruct dismounts to advance 100, 200, 300 meters to the front of their vehicle upon dismounting under AI control. Using normal assault engage etc route tactics. And a control axis for the advance defaulting to the vehicles heading upon dismounting, or a user applied axis.Hopefully this should help control infantry in mission building without having to spam 12 odd routes each time you want to do a simple or a hasty sweeping / screening of a wood line.Which at the moment is an exercise in micromanagement, especially on a spur of the moment "Sweep that treeline"To break this behaviour give the inf unit a normal route.to reinstate route the inf to the vehicle icon or a rejoin vehicle coherency function.SO summaryveh stopsinf dismountinf advance, veh stationary/coveringinf hold/bayonet/shoot enemyinf fold back to vehicleinf remount vehicle moves off.All without having to spam 8 routes per platoon.Which when your running a company can quickly become 24 routes.
Tjay
+1 :luxhello:Could it be, Hedge, that you've recently joined a Soviet-orientated V.U in which inf and Mech/Inf operations assume increased importance?
Hedgehog
+1 :luxhello:Could it be, Hedge, that you've recently joined a Soviet-orientated V.U ? I might have. in which inf and Mech/Inf operations assume increased importance? Infantry, what are they??! This. Is a tank unit! All joking aside, it was when I assumed the role of Mech Inf Battalion Cmdr for a mission. we did one, ONE! mounted assault, and everything, EVERYTHING seemed to break. Half the BMPs wouldn't move, and the other half of the infantry (I.E. the ones whose PC's did move), wouldn't go anywhere. They'd fire at the enemy half the time too..... Gah it was a complete micromanagement clusterf**k The big picture went straight out the window the moment those BMP's doors opened. Never again. (Stick to Tanks, or Command) Just saying I'd like a feature where you can say: "Right, Mech platoons XYZ go here, here and here, push infantry 100m into the treeline, keep the enemy's head down." And trust them to get on with it. Rather than get down on the ground and directing dismount squads.
Gibsonm
So silly question. You do know you can set up routes and then copy them (and indeed route chains) to multiple units? So when you read the brief you presumably realised you'd be doing an assault at some point. So setup some sample routes on the white boarder area, using a waypoint instead of a unit and then copy and paste as required. Sure they wont be perfect but they save time.

But that's not really an option for OPFOR is it?

Very good advice, if I may say so. The problem remains that you never know if the vehicles will actually deign to travel along those routes - or, in fact, do anything else you tell 'em too. :icon_frown:
Gibsonm
But that's not really an option for OPFOR is it? Well you still try to stay in the vehicle for as long as possible. So a 5km assault might only have people dismounting in the last 300m or so.

Think of the slugging matches players would have in them.

Parachuteprone
Given that his list contains only 39 items I'm happy to report that we'll easily exceed your desired quota. But when you add that to all the stuff I asked for
Marko
But when you add that to all the stuff I asked for LoL I do wonder what the most desired new addition AFV would be in the SB community. My guess the French players would want the Leclerc, the Germans a playable Marder the USA I would say a AGS Striker or yet another variant of the M1. The Australian M1 variant for the Aussies, The Brits I would say the Chieftain. Not really Sure what the Finns swedes etc. would like. But if we all put are preference for are perspective nations Current or old AFV to one side I wonder what would be the most popular choice, No ideal really, possibly the merkava would win. Toastman
Has to be Merkava 1 / 2 / 3 /4 !!
Parachuteprone
Merkava would be great. Also anxious to see some Chinese stuff added.I think the Leclerc is a pretty safe bet to be included.Still like to see the Centurian playable as well.
Lt DeFault
I'd like to see the Leclerc modeled. Merkava would be cool, too. But I'd put the Leclerc first.

Colebrook
Easy ones:-When you join a in progress game by default the contour lines stay a 20m(or 10?), which is too much for all maps, as a result you only see a flat map, it would be a good idea an option to change the contour lines, or at least set as default 5m or 2m that usually work for 95% of the maps. - When joining in progress an automatic re-sending all the graphic on map system. And for me more than new tanks I would like more detail in the existing ones: more working switches and panels, more working menus on the displays and things like that.
Lumituisku
I agree with Colebrook! I would love to see existing vehicles to be better modeled.
Los
In addition to playable Merkava , super sherman centurion and bmp would like to see better illumination, illum rounds, ir and regular searchlights for those early seventies clashes.
TSe419E
Would like to see the M60A1 for '70s and early '80s scenarios.
ssidiver
Has to be Merkava 1 / 2 / 3 /4 !!My number one choice! Then there are the heavy infantry variants.
