How about getting a temporary A7A1 or just a A7 we know the Gun performance, we might not know all the new rounds but we know some of them, we know the weight has incresed, we know the engine, we know the armor is better, we know the sights, we have a unclassified BMS that you can put in how about getting it.
And with the possibility to put the addon armor, the RWS, and APS on as options and use public sources as questimates for the classified bits

When we're not swamped with work that pays and which we can't bypass if we want to maintain a status of a reliable supplier. eSim Games first and foremost is a Training Company. When opportunity arises, we add vanity projects like the German Leopard 1A5 for which there is no discernible market in the training domain. It's not just that the turret roof would need to be adapted. The whole turret interior would have to be made, which is a five-digit Euro investment that will never pay back.

I understand that your perspective on Steel Beasts is different, but I also know that you've been an officer and that you understand supporting today's troops' training needs must be prioritized over nostalgia projects.

Also, while we work on a new engine (which is a multi-year effort that must be financed without immediate perspective of actually earning us any money), as a prudent entrepreneur I better execute caution in spending.

In summary, the cast turret of the Leopard 1A5 is really low in the order of priorities right now.

Existing Leopard 1A5 with existing commander view is sufficient for me.

I realize that this is an "unpaid" product and I am QUITE happy to have the vehicle playable in it's current state and I thank eSim for putting in the effort they did to give us this important Cold War tank as playable as it is.

@Ssnake I want to point out that for many tanks I would be *thrilled* to simply have them playable with no interiors at all.  The Leopard AS1 is an outstanding example of this.  It has no interiors at all and I am QUITE happy to use it in missions as an Ersatz-Leopard1A4.

My only real wish is that in the future we could get some more similar tanks as sort of "gap filler" tanks.

For example I would be THRILLED to have any of the following tanks added in a similar manner to the Leopard AS1, including if it means accepting them with a completely wrong fire control system, wrong turret roofs, no interiors, etc.  I am more concerned about the correct performance of guns, armor, and mobility, than cosmetic features:

Chieftain Mk.5
A Leopard 1 with Passive IR night sights (Slap the NVG night vision view into the existing auxillary sights when player presses the night vision key for Leopard AS1)
An M60 with Passive IR night sights (The brief and rare M60A3 Passive would be a great variant to easily mod in)

Merkava Mk.2

A T-72B with Kontakt-5 ERA

A T-64 and/or T-80

A "T-OPFOR" tank - The existing external 3D models, armor, and gun performance of the T-90 in game, NO interior views at all, Copy/Paste existing Leopard 2 or M1 Abrams fire controls in so that we have a playable "Red" tank with modern thermals.

etc.

I understand that paying customers have to come first so I'll always be quite happy to accept things that are "close enough, squint harder!" if it means I can do some more fun cold war era stuff with them.

It's perfectly fine to "wish" in a wish list thread whatever you want. There's no need to self-censor your musings ... quite the contrary, I appreciate the unfiltered truth. All I'm asking for is that you understand why I'm sometimes negative in my response because of the different perspective.

The unfiltered truth:

I want some more cold war stuff and I don't care if you guys have to chop off corners with a chain saw to make it happen, or have some elements that are obviously incorrect placeholders with no intention to ever fix it.  I get that it does not make money and I'm quite happy to settle for something that does the job even if it's wrong.  I don't know about the rest of you but once or twice in my life I have had to use things that were not hammers as if they were hammers...

EDIT: I will gladly pay some cash for this.  I will not attempt to speak for others, but if you could add optional modules like DCS does or even just do paid updates, I don't think I would bat an eye at hearing "This $20 update fixes these bugs and adds in this simplified tank model" or whatever.

Requesting a change to how selecting infantry quality is done within the Mission Editor.

Currently to change from the default of Conscript to Regular you have to select every single infantry unit and manually change this. Obviously, this gets tedious when creating larger formations (such as a Battalion Detachment, pictured here) where you have to dismount all your troops, drag select everything, then manually filter out the vehicles so you actually have the option to "Set quality."

Two ideas that would help makes this a bit less time-consuming and tedious:

1. An "apply to all" option for set quality to set every infantry unit on a particular side to a selected quality.

2. Some method of changing the default infantry quality when placing.

Either would be greatly appreciated.

Actually, you can already do this:

IF AND ONLY IF you do NOT have any vehicle units selected with you go to Right Click -> Set Quality.

If you have vehicles selected, you must use CTRL+LeftClick to de-select the vehicles, and then you may set infantry quality.

I know. And it is VERY tedious. Hence my original request.

In fact, I actually mention the exact thing you are saying within my post:

So yeah... you can't "already do this" as originally described in my wishlist post.

Just something I noticed that I feel may be a relatively simple thing.

By default the BRDM2, BTR60 etc have the commanders IR spotlignt in the upwards position which blocks the turrets view at 11 o clock for a player crewman.

This is a limitation of the real vehicle and realistic but perhaps we could make it so the spotlight is only deployed when doing night operations as I imagine how it would be used IRL? Or be really fancy and have it bound to a key but I feel like simply having it up during night would be enough as of now it can be quite a pain if you are one of the insane psychopaths who like crewing BRDMs and BTRs.

Also on that note, for a very over the moon wish being able to equip brdm, btr etc with the drop in kliver turrets or similar that carry 30mm cannons and atgms could be a lot of fun imo

(Thank you very much for the 3d interior on the BRDM2, this is a favorite vehicle of mine and getting to experience it in a sim like this is really cool! I hope someday the BTR60 can get a bit nicer interior someday too)

Thank you very much! Please keep it up and anymore brdm2 and btr variants would make my day.

I was wondering if there has ever been any discussion of JGSDF units, I wonder if they would be interested in tbe simulator or have their own domestic product? Theyre one of the few countries to operate completely original domestic equipment.

Another thing for "the List:"

The ability to have multiple overlays that can be turned on or off during the planning phase of any operation.

The ability to have a GTAO (or MCOO depending on who makes it), an enemy SITTEMP, and operational graphics split by warfighting function (Maneuver, Fires, Sustainment, etc.) and the ability to hide or display each of them at any point would be a welcome addition.
