Longtimethebear
Hi, is it still possible to join either teams during this campaign or do I have to wait to the next one starts? Thanks
Gibsonm
Western democracies always willing to take on new people. I think Red prefers an elite, small group (not exactly the "worker's paradise") to run theirs. Be aware though that its winner take all tomorrow so everyone will be "under the pump". If you want to participate on the Blue side, please try to be there 30 mins prior to kickoff (which maybe a challenge for a UK player - unless you are an early riser [about 0230 BST]). Marko
One last one. Before it gets real "And When he gets to heaven, To Saint Peter he will tell; One more soldier reporting, sir. I've served my time in Hell!"
SeanPatrick
A modified form of one of my father's favorites:"Old tankers never die, they go to Hell and regroup!"(In his version it was the U.S. Army Rangers.)
Gibsonm
Well the last FRAGO has been sent and the pieces are in place. In a few hours we will know who prevailed. If Red, then congratulations on a well fought and demanding campaign. If we should prevail, then my commiserations on getting so near and yet so far. In either case, my thanks to the command team and to those who kept coming back each week (or if a Recon Battle veteran as well, twice a week), week after week to man the Troops and Platoons to make this playable.I hope everyone enjoyed it and no doubt it will form the basis for "war stories" for a while to come.A special vote of thanks to Volcano and Mogwa for linking the pieces together.I understand that at stages both sides had grievances so that is the usual "litmus test" of a balanced campaign. To both sides:Good Luck and Good Soldiering. enigma6584
It has been a great and entertaining campaign. It has been a pleasure to play opfor to you guys. dido. It was a lot of fun and frankly a valuable learning experience. Watching a defense in depth develope along our front...and becoming frustrated in the process. Participating in a concentration of forces and watching the schwerpunkt cut loose. Thank you to Volcano and Mogwa for creating this educational and entertaining experience. Thank you BLUFOR. You have been great opponants.
Gibsonm
dido. It was a lot of fun and frankly a valuable learning experience. Watching a defense in depth develope along our front...and becoming frustrated in the process. <snip> Thank you BLUFOR. You have been great opponents. I intend to publish my OPORDs after today so those on Red can get an insight into the BLUE planning process. That way you can compare what you thought you were going to face to the plan, and indeed from there to "reality" based on the AARs as the plan is never executed perfectly. I'm guessing all Red was pick the next full strength formation and send it forward into the "meat grinder".

My commisar commander gave my unit several liters of vodka per man and pointed off in the distance telling us to take that area. :debile2:

Moderators Volcano Posted September 1, 2012 Author Moderators Share Posted September 1, 2012 Thanks everyone, I was just updating the wiki and map. I have yet to type the summary though -- will do that now. Thanks everyone for playing, hope you all had fun. Thanks for Sean for hosting, and for Mog helping with scenarios and general good ideas, for everyone that showed up to play (especially everyone in Europe at the long hours in the morning), and thanks to both COs for keeping the campaign close and exciting to the very end. (I feel like I am at the Academy Awards). Until part 2... Ah yes, don't forget about your forum BLING BLING for the memories: http://www.steelbeasts.com/sbwiki/index.php/Red_Tide_85#Participation_Award

It´s a great Experience to have the whole World in TS fighting together. I learn a lot (shortcuts, tactics, Commands aso, with the help of Jake Peril) and have 7 short but very interesting Nights Sometimes I have the old "SB 1 Feelings" having all Nations around, and I like it ! I hope to see you all at the LNoT in October.
