dpabrams
An Armored Calvary Plt. of the 11 CAV, May 1983 (4xM1, 2x M901, 2x M113A1) is in firing postions on a low hill commanding a view over open fields, when the Soviet Tank battalion and attached mechanized infantry burst through the pines to sieze the high ground. FASCAM was dropped moments before the Soviets arrived but they have mine rollers. The Soviets attack in company formations in the classic 2x1, with artillery support. The firefight rages for 15 minutes. The Soviets are stopped and wiped out, 30 tanks in all and 10 BMP-1's. The Americans lose 3 M1's and all the M901's. pigdog
Pigdog, it's what mission in desert? Its "Stryker Ambush (M1).sce" BUT, I'm in the process of editing the mission and updating the map with the new buildings included in the latest version. It uses the NTC map. So it wont look like my screenshots.

pigdog
I'd rather wait till I'm done with it. I'd say its about 50% done. Trying to make a different iraq style mission. Plus its my first atempt at playing with the mission/map editor.

First everybody screams that the tanks are too water-shy, and now that we made them less afraid of Dihydrogenmonoxide we get ridiculed for them rushing into the substance like lemmings.
ChanceBS
I think that pic was staged to produce a comedic picture. MHO
Quagmire
I think that pic was staged to produce a comedic picture. MHO Not necessarily. I recall a scenario I downloaded where the enemy had real trouble crossing a river - even with a bridge being available. The traffic jam was massive. Many didn't bother with the bridge and attempted to ford the river instead, with disastrous results - see the pic below. Firing on this lot was a real 'fish in a barrel' moment! Yes, that can be expected when an entire battalion is given one bridge to cross with no alternating routes if {X number of dead vehicles are in the vicinity of the bridge}. The AI will try its best to go down that one route, into the traffic jam of dead vehicles, and across a bridge that is probably too packed with vehicle to get them across - because someone told them so. (I'm just saying, its about 50/50 scenario design and AI behavior there.)
Tacbat
Which is probably why you don't see a lot of missions with scripted bridge crossings in them.

Captain_Colossus
I didn't think this was possible anymore as it appeared to be lost some updates ago- a burning T-72. I found out that it's possible, but only after a destroyed T-72 is hit again with HEAT ammunition of some kind, otherwise the default states are: quiet kill- no smoke, smoke, turret eruption. The burning animation under normal circumstances appears to have been lost. Edited March 13, 2011 by Captain_Colossus
