Can I get a Bushie?

With GPMG Flex mount, I like the (modded) noise it makes.

Plus its 1 of 3 vehicles that uses a 7.62mm as a flex mount.

(And I can shoot at pesky interlopers.)

(If you want the sound let me know :) I have adopted a policy of personal distribution)

Um, no.

You get an M113, just like me.

If it was a Motorised Bn and we were both in Bushmaster, then you could have one.

We get to go forward and be shot at, he lurks "in the rear, with the gear".

Your M113 comes with a built in FO party. If you had a Bushmaster you'd have to manually load and unload the dismounted FO party and that is more work that its worth (and a PITA to create).

Of course you can always command the spare Motorised PL (I23) in addition to being the air and fires guy and then you'll get a bunch of them (but another job to do). :)

Aw. :(

The only thing I have to defend myself is Harsh Language.

(And those funky F88s)

Some would say that's a good thing. :(

Hands will be busy with an M113, a UAV and/or Tigres.

(And something regarding n map updates = :eek2:)

So 9 troops of guns, 4 x ARH and a few airstrikes don't count? :)

Sledgehammers for Peanuts.

I like your thinking!

But seriously if they close enough to spit on, I'm running away.

(Just so you know, I have a RocketPropelledGrenadophobia  )

Time to move on to Mission #4.

Given the time this will run and the likely fatigue levels (either from being up too long or too many Long Island Ice Teas :)) in our European friends we need to:

1. Have a mission that brings glorious victory to the friendly forces, and

2. Doesn't need too many people to run.

This will still provide quite a few roles but probably at the TP / PL level rather than at the OC level, so we can still have lots of people involved (if attendance surges) but most will just need to cope with three or four vehicles, not three or four TP / PL.

Should have a scenario / briefing in place after the weekend.

Alright,

You are interested in participating but there aren't any Bradleys or Leo or T-72s (at least on our side).

If you are unsure on how to use:

ASLAV

ASLAV-PC

BUSHMASTER

M113AS4

M-88

ARH

UAV

Javelin

HMG

AGL

...

Can I recommend a bundle of guides that should help:

http://www.steelbeasts.com/Downloads/p13_sectionid/257/p13_fileid/2336

This will need to be revised for 3.0 but it will be current for the LNoT.

M1A1 (HA) has a bunch of tutorials devoted to it so I didn't cover it with its own "Primer".

So no reply to this query? :(

Assume the Best (Map Updates)

Plan for the Worst (No Map Updates)

?

(Plus if we practice without map updates maybe we can avoid the wooden spoon in the next Top Tank Platoon?)

If you are unsure on how to use:

ASLAV

ASLAV-PC

BUSHMASTER

With or without Remote Weapon systems?

If so the "Basic" "Protector" or the fully modelled Lemur?

No Map updates: Well I didn't raise it - Hedge did.

If he wants it well you'll need to talk to him (plus I don't see your posts - calmer that way).

RWS: Well if you read the guide you'll be right for both wont you :)

Not that it matters for your M113 FO vehicle. ;)

In response to my query about whether map updates are on or off, Gibson has written: No Map updates: Well I didn't raise it - Hedge did. If he wants it well you'll need to talk to him.

So here I am talking to you. Perhaps you could PM Gibson and persuade him to come up with a straight answer to a straight question. Thanks.

can someone help me with port fowarding b4 the festivities start?

Not me I'm afraid - its a 0330 get up as it is.

Perhaps arrive early for TGIF and sort it then?

We maybe able to run Hamachi to get around that but you will probably experience performance issues.

INTREP for Mission 4:

The 1st Battalion, Royal New Zealand Infantry Regiment is seen disembarking at Fleet Base East, Garden Island, Sydney.

They are granted a traffic waiver and get green lights as they set off at 90kph up the F3 freeway for Newcastle.

Victor Company, the Bn's lead company, will take a little over two hours to cover the 160 Km route in their NZ LAVs.

sorry i missed out.i will try next week so maybe someone can help, thnx.

Yeah, it was pretty good for my 1st TFIG. Maybe you can join me next week in getting my @## whooped. :)

If you need help in port forwarding the thread here showed me everything I needed to know to get things done: http://www.steelbeasts.com/sbforums/showthread.php?t=7739.

This is the site tarball's thread will point you to that will help you find your router and how that specific router sets up port forwarding: http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm

Keep in mind that not all routers support port forwarding (i.e. my old one).

PM me if you need help.

Situation:

As per BG Briefing

You are to Clear within boundaries, secure OBJ Brewery (836585)and secure our flanks for the COY Attack. Once the orders and graphics for Mission #4 are posted (within next 24 hrs), I'll probably create a new thread that contains:

1. The introductory information.

2. The Orders / briefs for each mission.

3. The "latest" manning list (who is in which seat) for each.

That way we should have a "short", less than 38 pages anyway :o reference guide to use on the night.

Participants should be able to scroll through the posts and move from Mission to Mission in a simple process (some things here are currently intermingled or there are numerous manning lists that changed almost daily).

This thread I think we should maintain for admin issues and any manning questions (so we don't mess up the "summary" thread).

Ack your orders.

Don't forget worst case A Coy will need to conduct a forward passage of lines through you (picking up T13 on the way) if you get bogged down.

"A Coy:

Grouping: No Change

Mission: Be Prepared To (BPT) take over from CT B IOT achieve the BG Mission

Task: BG Reserve (Res)

- BPT conduct Fwd Passage of Lines (POL) with CT B to maintain assault.

- BPT conduct Rear Area Security Operations (RASO) on order.

Purpose: Spt clearance of Port."

9 and 29, this is 19, ref your last, ACK, out."

Mission 4:

Situation Update:

After successfully delaying the Enemy's attack vicinity the urban area of NEWCASTLE (at least I hope we have), a combination of political pressure and limited logistic support (RAN and RAAF have accounted for numerous platforms silly enough to venture into the previously declared exclusion zone) has meant that ADF units (BG BOAR) have secured and re-occupied the city area.

ARes Motorised Platoons have been tasked with helping restore normalcy to the area but a burnt out T-80 has already been adopted as an ornament in a local park.

To the North the situation is less favourable with the enemy retaining control of RAAF WILLIAMTOWN, despite CT-C's valiant delaying defence.

Despite NEWCASTLE being recaptured and the lodgement at NELSON BAY being sealed off, there remains a sizeable enemy force in and around RAAF WILLIAMTOWN.

RAAF WILLIAMTOWN has suffered a large amount of damage over the previous phases with the enemy now systematically destroying various pieces of infrastructure to maximise the cost of rebuilding.

The PM just wants the problem to "go away" as it has consumed too many news cycles already.

In addition the arrival of the NZ contingent means that BG TIGER, which has suffered sizeable, almost politically unsustainable, casualties to date can be rested and that there is a fresh Force Element (FE) available and indeed it needs to be included in subsequent operations as part of the larger political piece.

The PM has authorised the CDF to use "whatever it takes to clear this last remaining blemish on the Australian landscape" and has accepted that the infrastructure in and on RAAF WILLIAMTOWN can be written off.

The CDF has interpreted (and had confirmed by back brief to her) this as relaxing the rules of engagement to "weapons free" and lifting the restrictions on specialist ammunition natures such as DPICM.

The overall situation:

8935986447_8854a579d7_b.jpg

BG Orders

TOPOGRAPHY

The Tactical Area of Responsibility (TAOR), “Salt Ash”, is depicted on the trace.

The ground is generally flat with some hills and varies from open pasture in the South to wooded areas in the North.

The HUNTER RIVER forms a major obstacle and can only be crossed at the bridges. The landward boundary to the TAOR is as per the trace.

Key Terrain: The wooded areas and high features around the RAAF base.

Decisive Terrain: RAAF WILLIAMTOWN.

SITUATION

Further to the initial General Brief issued by the S2 earlier and the overall update above, the following update is available.

Enemy:

The Enemy is assessed as possibly as large as a Mech Coy (BMP-2), reinforced with Tk (T-80U) with anti armd, anti air and limited offensive support. Due to the current air situation, it is assessed that there is only a slim chance that he can insert fixed wing assets for short loiter strikes on High Value Targets (HVT).

MLCOA: Is assessed as imposing delay and withdrawing under pressure IOT gain time for negotiations, to inflict casualties on ADF forces and to damage infrastructure as much as possible.

This would cause the GOAS to be embarrassed by its perceived inability to defend its own territory.

MDCOA: Is assessed as accepting decisive engagement. This would generate a full scale engagement in and around the airfield, generating heavy casualties and inflicting long term damage on infrastructure.

This could create more embarrassment than the MLCOA and if implemented would cause massive civilian casualties and inflict large scale economic damage on the region.

Friendly:

Higher Commander’s Intent

Two Up: To regain Australian sovereignty with minimal ADF casualties.

One Up: The Brigade Commander has been directed by the PM and CDF to CLEAR RAAF WILLIAMTOWN IOT re-establish Australian sovereignty and set the conditions for GOAS to seek reparations from the invading power.

Most of BG TIGER has withdrawn to the NW to re-org after the recent period of high intensity conventional operations.

The ANZAC BG consists of:

A Sqn, 1st Armoured Regt

A Sqn, 2nd CAV Regt

Victor Coy, 1 RNZIR

7 Platoon, C Coy, BG TIGER

DFSW Platoon, Spt Coy, BG TIGER

CO BG TIGER has been appointed CO BG ANZAC.

Civilians:

The TAOR has been deemed to be clear of civilians.

Forward Arming and Refueling Point (FARP) assets

1 x TP, 16 AD Regt TACON

9 TPs of two guns each from 8/12 Medium Regiment, RAA in Direct Support.

MISSION

BG ANZAC is to clear RAAF WILLIAMTOWN, IOT regain AS sovereignty in the NEWCASTLE region.

EXECUTION

Purpose: We are here to finish this once and for all. The PM is applying pressure to have a story with a "happy ending" for tonight's news. Tempo, speed, firepower and shock action are the terms being used in CANBERRA. The coal loading operations have resumed and now we need to get the airport back.

Method: To achieve this the BG will atk “on converging axes” with a Tk Sqn from the South and the Kiwi's from the North West through the bush. DFSW PL who have infiltrated just short of Objective 2 will provide fire support as will the ARHs.

Victor Coy, 1 RNZIR, is BG ME.

Endstate: The endstate will be the RAAF base secured and held, with the last enemy units effectively destroyed as a combat effective force.

Concept of Operations

Scheme of manoeuvre:

Three phase operation.

Phase 1; The Sqn and Coy assault OBJ 2 and 1 respectively, launching out of their respective Assy Areas and FUPs. Will require co-ordination on the move with V Coy reporting when 1,500m short of OBJ 1 to cue the Sqn's attack on OBJ 2 (otherwise the tanks will arrive way too early).

Tk Sqn attack to be supported by DFSW PL and ARH.

Phase 2; Once OBJ 1 and 2 secure, V Coy to assault OBJ 3 with tks providing fire support and switching to intimate support if required.

Phase 3; Re-org once position cleared and RAAF WILLIAMTOWN secured.

Main Effort:

All Phases: V Coy, 1 RNZIR.
