Gibsonm,do you have the briefing as a pdf file?if you do,pls upload it,iam still figuring out what position to take, but its a lot of info..

No I don't.

I've spent enough time on this already without more stuff. :)

Part of the reason why I created the "Summary" thread was so that people could read all the main information there in a compact form (3 or 4 pages instead of lots).

So if you copied the briefings from there you could create your own PDF (albeit without the graphics).

Hi, Zip,

In Mission 2, I have c/s 66, and eight team Javelin group in addition to A Coy. If you want c/s 66, and Mark agrees, you'll be all set for Javelinry! Mark, if Zip wants c/s 66, I'm fine with that! :)

Welcome Zipuli!,

66 is in action in Missions 2, 3 and 4.

If Tango29 is happy to give them to you then you can use them in 2, 3 and 4 if you want (currently un allocated in 3 and 4).

Manning list(s) in Summary thread updated to reflect this.

And i must say this is the best briefing /preparation for a online game ever!

Well thanks, but I think you'll find the previous big sessions (earlier LNoTs, Brave Rifles, Red Tide '85, Nordic Battle group, etc.) had similar lead up work.

I'm not sure just how I did it, but I now have the four missions in my Downloads folder, I've accessed the first two, made a plan for the BG Res Coy in Msn 2, saved it, accessed it...and it all works. I guess if you push enough buttons and access enough folders, anything is possible! :)

Glad you are ready.

Don't forget to go through the same "process" to get the new Mission #3. :)

Deleted first Msn 3, accessed new version, got it into the folder, so looks like I'm good to go. Now if I can actually get to Msns 3 and 4...!

Duke,

Are you happy for me to publish the PzBtl911 SB server IP here?

Also whilst I'm happy to host the TS traffic on the SteelBeasts site (using the BG ANZAC sub channel - which I can add channels to as required), does it make more sense to run it off your TS server too?

That way we can ensure people know well beforehand where to connect to on the day and minimise delays/disruption as people wait patiently but potentially in the wrong place. :)

Hi Mark,

Game Server IP adress:

89.163.167.82

If you want to use US-Teamspeak no problem.

As Plan B you can give me the channel list, so I can create the channels in our TS too.

The missions are uploaded and I`m looking forward.

best regards

Duke

Team - here are my notes from my green field message note book. I wil l give verbal orders in the assembly area. The Int Corporal is doing up the trace and I will give that to you soon.

Orders CT – C Assault Mission #2

Situation

Enemy

The Enemy is assessed as possibly as large as a Mech Coy minus In front of us , reinforced with Tk and anti armd spt. There is also the chance of a heliborne force launching from RAAF WILLIAMTOWN depending on the success of BG EAGLE’s operations there.

T-80 were sighted during the initial lodgement and must be assumed to be present in the TAOR.

Apart from rotary wing, it is assessed that due to the current air parity situation, he can insert fixed wing assets for short loiter strikes on High Value Targets (HVT).

Enemy are likely to imposing delay and withdrawing under pressure in order to gain time for negotiations, to inflict casualties on ADF forces and to damage infrastructure as much as possible.

The Most Dangerous Course of Action (MDCOA): Is assessed as accepting decisive engagement. This would generate a full scale MOUT engagement, generating heavy casualties and inflicting long term damage on infrastructure.

We are now getting traces from the subordinate commanders - which is great. :)

The challenge will be to get all of it on the map in a timely manner.

The solution, a combination of the "save plan" feature and the children's game - pass the parcel.

Mission 1: N/A pretty straight forward and graphics on the trace already.

Mission 2:

OC CT B (Tac197) does his trace and saves plan.

He emails the plan file to OC CT C (G241)

OC CT C (G241) loads scenario and loads OC CT B (Tac197) plan

CT C updates the plan with his information.

CT C saves the updated plan and emails it to OC CT D (Duke)

OC CT D (Duke) updates the plan and because he is hosting he loads the combined plan for all.

Mission 3:

OC CT C (Tac197) does his trace and saves plan.

He emails the plan file to OC V1 (Panzer Leader)

OC V1 loads scenario and loads OC CT C plan

OC V1 updates the plan with his information.

OC V1 emails the cumulative plan to me

I email plan to Duke and he loads the cumulative plan

Mission 4:

OC A Sqn C (Tac197) does his trace and saves plan.

He emails the plan file to OC Victor Coy (TBC)

Same process as above but if no one is running Victor Coy then I just send the Sqn plan to Duke.

I email plan to Duke and he loads the cumulative plan.

Tac197 is working on his traces even as we speak, so hopefully they will have made the circuit before we start. :)

Update on the Traces:

Mission 2 and Mission 3 completed and sent.

I really wish there was a cut and paste function, it would make replication of overlays so much easier...(please note design team) Yes and I already know about the mirror in red/blue function in the mission editor, its a bit clunky, and doesn't help if you want to save a PLN.....:)
