^Yes. Burning tanks, muzzle flashes from tank cannons, smoking tank wrecks, buildings on fire, these are the effects that now are wanted to be illustrated!

I presume that was in jest but just in case the absence of smileys means its serious ...

THE thing that is causing the delay is what would help generate most of these effects.

IF it were fixed, then I suspect you'd already have:

1. Screen shots.

2. A video or two.

3. The product.

How about some more screen shots? It's been a whole week and I am bored with video card this and memory that. We want pictures, eyes candy, tank porn!

well, there's at least 1 more vehicle that i know of which has gotten a visual update, but hasn't been showcased yet.

Zip,

She's a nice looking unit, however I don't think I have ever seen the IPM1 in MERDC. All the units I have seen were in CARC and forest green. But, it's OK, it will be the first unit I skin.

Wow, really? Just about every photo of an M1IP is in MERDC around 1985. But yes, they were painted both ways depending on the year. Lets be honest though, it doesn't matter what it looks like, you are going to make a mod anyway. ;)

I'm not going to go back and re-research this, because it was a huge PITA due to having to piece together multiple sources of info, however the M-1IP was in service and MERDC was the standard, before the "NATO 3 color" was announced as becoming the new standard by the US Army. Like the original M-1 the M-1IPs in Europe were issued in overall green and repainted in MERDC at the unit level. Knowing that these vehicles would have to be repainted overall green for turn in and also knowing the date for receiving M-1A1s some units apparently just left their IPs overall green. CONUS vehicles seemed to have had MERDC schemes applied prior to issue. For what its worth I drew newly refurbished M-1IPs in 1990 and they had the NATO tri color, so it just depends when and where the vehicle was.

I guess what I'm saying is that the decision to make that skin was not done "willy nilly" and it helps show a progression from overall green on the original M-1 on to MERDC on the M-1IP, and finally to the NATO tri color on the M-1A1s and beyond.

Roger that. I found some Ft. Hood and NTC units in MERDC. I love MERDC, forest green and CARC IPM1's period. If the skins are even close to the CARC M1 or M1A1's I have done it will be a fast job.

I was just looking at the screenshots again, and something looked funny. I couldnt put my finger on it, and than it dawned on me. the trees dont cast any shadows in any of the screenshots.

Is this on purpose? Forgive me if this was mentioned previously in this 75 page thread, but if I read anything along those lines, I have forgotten.
