Other thing is that nobody knows what designation code in the end new Russian MBT based on unified heavy platform "Armata" will receive. T-99 is again someones inventions just like "Black Eagle" name which refers to the other vehicle which had the only, official designation code Object 640.

AFAIK the only designation code is GABTU Object 198 and codename "Armata".

The Russians have a prototype test bed next gen tank.

I have seen some pics of it, Not sure what its designation is.

Allegedly, Some of the Russian top brass think the day of the tank has passed

So there is a debate in there military as to proceed with the next gen tank or not.

I guess the best they can realistically field is a T-90MS

I have Just watched five episodes of greatest tank battles.

And one can certainly make parallels between the vast differences in the quality of AFV,s

Between the combatants in WW2

There is no question, The M1A2 is far superior then the T-72.

The Tiger/panther was far superior to the Sherman/ T-34.

But quantity has a quality of its own.

SVU already takes on superior Tanks with positive outcomes.We have learned to make best Use of the T-72 strengths, And negate its weaknesses.

The T-72 is not a great tank by any means

But used correctly can be very effective.

Just put the gun over the rear desk at 6 O’clock and then you have all the high speed forward gears available to you to “redeploy to a more politically sound position” and use the slower gears to “advance” on your Western enemies.

CH Likes to lead from the front, it inspires the virtual troops to behave less like incompetent idiots, this policy, understandably, has mixed results.

However, being small and spikey has its uses in this regard.
