Nice. :)

We have been busy the last couple of months, with one of our leopards getting it ready for Åben Hede. Fixing the engine, replacing a leaking fuel tank ect. This weekend we put the engine back. Just in time before they get transported to Oksbøl.

Some of the work this weekend.

the guys working on the tanks, are they civilians or soldiers working in civilian clothes?

Both. Some still in the army, the rest is ex-army people that during service crewed a leopard or other AFV or tank. These vehicles are no more in service in the Danish army, so they're kept in shape, or getting renovated, for public exhibitions, static display, and in this particular case taking part in the annual Åben hede. The vehicles we have is from WWII era and up. and it keeps them from decaying :)

They do the same in Russia for the victory parade.

They need tankers from the 60s-70s, who are used to direct descendants of the T-34, and are used to "Power Assisted Nothing" :)

10;00 hrs Denmark time at the event, so 10 AM. If one were to say miss the 1st hour would this be a show stopper. It's due to flights out of the UK for me. Fly in Saturday night and miss 1/2 of tank fest, or,  fly into Denmark that morning for a 9:30 on the ground in Bilund time.

Seems like the Sunday flight is best .

Thanks for the info, I'll be there one way or another.

Hi 12Alfa

There are 77km from Billund Airport to Kallemærsk hede about an hour in car and its only doable if you rent a car which is very expensive in DK with publich transport your would be in the closest village at 1330 (01:30 PM dk time) and then a taxi out to where the show is

But renting a car and no delays you would miss and hour or 2 of the static exebition.

And of course the company of all the germans, Danes , Swedes on the evening of the 25th and of course the famous Pølse and hopefully a beer or 3. There might even be a småkage (Cookie) :D and we would prolly be very hard to find there where 25000 people last year and we looked for the germans but diddent find them.

So when we get closer get our phone numbers so you can call us.

Best regards

MD
