cata
The place, the reality, the legend! It’s Bekibekibekistan in all its glory. The map, as you may have gathered, is a fictional map, was made primarily for a central Asian country and COIN operations using the 29 PALMS MCAGCC 50km 1A height map. It ended up taking on a life of its own and grew, I have been working on it for over a year on and off. I found I was limited in the size of the cities or large towns below what I was hoping for due to computer power limitations. Was going to wait until after the release of 3.0 but while we wait might as well let you guys know im working on it and can comment, after 3.0 is release and there are no major issues I will get it uploaded. I have gone as far as making a road map and implemented a road network with road sings, also named most the major places with fictional names, see examples here. Will start adding screen shots of these places.

Panzer_Leader
Looks amazing cata, I love the thought that's gone into the creation of a fictional Central Asian locale and the overall attention to detail. Will locations be named on the map, or will there be some sort of accompanying reference, so we can refer to the fictional place names if/when developing scenarios using this map?
cata
If you look at my first post you will see I uploaded a large road map. This names all the towns and villages, large geographic features, roads etc. When I upload the map I can include the road sings skins and propaganda posters. But at the end of the day you can make it into anything you guys want. I made the road map and added names as it just seemed easier to refer to parts of the map in my own mind and makes it easier for others, like the named screen shots. I think this will help as SB moves toward the possibility of campaigns. I have not yet added names to the in game map, some might not want me to.

TankHunter
Looks very nice, I'm guessing the area around Kohistan is rather rugged based on the name.
cata
In this case it’s a wide valley with the village of Kohistan and a few other settlements along a central road that follows the river valley through a green zone and farm land. Two sets of mountains dominate the ground west and east.
