hoggydog
although I didn't like the later books early classics like Hunt for Red October, Red Storm Rising, Cardinal of the Kremlin and Without Remorse were some of my favourite books in the mid teens

Gibsonm
RIP.A man lucky enough to die doing what he wanted to do (and making a quid at it). Some might say a bit of an extreme marketing stunt for his upcoming "Command Authority".Perhaps a cue for someone to host a "Red Storm Rising" Operation?
Maj.Hans
Darn, that's too bad!I remember reading most of his earlier novels as a kid. I must have read Hunt for Red October, Red Storm Rising, Cardinal of the Kremlin, and Without Remorse a dozen times each.

Members Ssnake
Some might say a bit of an extreme marketing stunt for his upcoming "Command Authority".The best quip I heard at TankNet:"Did he really die, or have a ghostwriter do it for him?"I am soo going to hell for passing this on.All in all, I liked his early work up until about The Sum of All Fears (despite the occisionally gross factual inaccuracies, especially in Red Storm Rising). Kudos for him making the Techno Thriller a marketable for of storytelling. Dozens of lesser authors can now make a living, thanks to Clancy. When he started franchising his work - meh.
