NickMow Posted October 3, 2013 Share Posted October 3, 2013 Just a little share, back in the day 20 Armd Brigade BAOR. We had inflatable tanks and APC's. These were used as targets for FAC training. Many happy days wandering round Germany setting up the tanks. Putting the laser target marker out with a diffusing filter on to simulate reflected laser beam (you can just see it clipped to the top of the Landrover). Then spend all day bringing in the jets. Some bright spark suggested as the BMP we had was of course amphibious, we should float it on a canal ! We used to get photo imagery back after exercises usually from Jaguar squadrons. One set came back with a note something like "We were surprised to see the crew of this BMP sunbathing on it, on a canal, in their underwear !"
