Rotareneg
Even with auto routing off, vehicles sometimes can't decide on what road to drive on: 9bp-b94mEOk The scenario is attached. road_pathing_test.zip
Moderators Volcano Posted October 9, 2013 Moderators Share Posted October 9, 2013 Try it without time acceleration and see if they behave differently.
Werewolf
Even with auto routing off, vehicles sometimes can't decide on what road to drive on::luxhello:That was funny. Thankyou for the chuckle. That said: Pathfinding is an issue that's been around since Patton was a private.
Rotareneg
Time acceleration doesn't effect it, number of tanks doesn't effect it. Attached is a scenario with one single tank that replicates the problem 100%, at least for me. road_pathing_test2.zip
Tacbat
I guess it's a good thing that roads don't look like that in real life.
dunc
It's not about the units being "indecisive"... it's about the fact that the road a unit is traveling on is about "to end". If "the end is near", the unit seems to look for "another fast path", i.e. another road. Somehow they are however not aware of the fact that other roads are about to end as well. Or the tolerance is too low ("hey, the other road is 2mm longer!"). Check out the adjusted scenario, it has a unit traveling on a longer road to begin with, and it does NOT change the road, while another unit on a shorter road looks for a longer road as soon as its original road is about to end: road_pathing_test3.zip
Froggy
I have a similar bug on an custom map, and what ever I do, the tank does not follow the path. test canjuers.rar
