DarkAngel
Waiting for file approval then I will add links.A 60 x 40 km map of the North German plain east of Hamburg as requested by Hermes. I'm not sure if he is still active but it was an area I'd been looking at anyway. There wasn't a huge amount of building data available for this area (in comparison to the Normandy map ). Its still a good starting point though.http://www.steelbeasts.com/Downloads/p13_sectionid/253/p13_fileid/2514http://www.steelbeasts.com/Downloads/p13_sectionid/252/p13_fileid/2515 Edited October 11, 2013 by DarkAngel

thewood
I'm asking because I don't have that path anywhere on my HD, including documents. I thought maybe something changed I wasn't aware of.
thewood
I am beginning to suspect that this has something to do with my config of win8. I have the beta of 8.1 and there is no map folder in the programdata tree. I installed on my wife's and the map folder showed up in the tree there. Now I wonder where it is on the win 8.1 machine. If I find it, I'll let someone know.
Crusty
Is it a hidden folder, I seem to remember that might be the casehttp://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/show-hidden-files#show-hidden-files=windows-vistaI know that link is not for Windows 8, but it might be similar.
thewood
Thanks...tried that earlier. I am going uninstall and reinstall and see if that helps. I'll screw around with it tonight.Worst case is a downgrade back to 8.0 and see if that helps.
ooCURToo
Have you tried shipping Windows 8 back to Microsoft along with a hate letter and installing Windows 7?I apologize. I have anger issues with Windows 8. I'm seeing someone about it...
thewood
I like win 8. It benchmarks almost 10% faster on my machine than win 7. I upgraded to 8.1 because it supposedly gave more flexibility in file handling and UI. In fact, with 8.1, I never have to look at the touch part. It looks almost exactly like win 7.It appears to be a more streamlined version of win 7, if its configure properly.
paf
Nice, just looked at the map and saw it also includes the region (Lauenburger Seen) I live at the moment. Will check it out as soon as the dongle arrives
thewood
So I had done the win 8.1 upgrade after installing to 3.0. Reinstalling SB 3.0 onto 8.1 solved the issue. I now have access to the programdata folder. So if anyone upgrades to 8.1, I would suggest reinstalling any games that use the programdata folder if you have issues.

Tacbat
Did you put the Santa Maria.ter (or whatever it's called) in your terrain folder too? You need both a height map (.hgt) and a terrain (.ter) file for it to work.
wolfstriked
Tacbat,I put .hgt file in height folder an .ter in terrain folder.EDIT<NM I went and changed the "view all folders and files" to yes and put it straight into game directory which worked and I see it in game.
