mudpi
Hi guys, I'm trying to get my head round the organisation/order of battle and composition of different military forces, you know brigade, battalion, company etc. and figure out down to the squad level how different forces are organised, but despite there being a lot of info out there I can't find anything that's concise, clear, complete and gives a good picture of organization from company to squad level, has anybody found any good web resources I could use as an "at a glance" reference Also, I'd love to get my hands on some sort of open source modern war gaming info as well for point values, for "balancing" scenarios and missions to but again I've had no luck with that either -has anyone seen or know of anything like that?
DarkAngel
There is an Order of Battles website, it is not very easy to navigate though:-http://orbat.com/For US and USSR formations the FM's seem to offer the best, easy to use data. You can find a few of those in the Download section.
Lt DeFault
Wikipedia (I know, I know) has some decent general info on unit organization.

IrishHussar
Hi Allbelow is a link for a fairly comprehensive BAOR orbat of the late 80s. Having served through the cold war myself it was quite interesting to see the various structures of different organizations within the orbat.http://www.scribd.com/doc/146180392/BAOR-July-1989-v-4-0Irish

Hedgehog
Thanks CR2_Commander, I take it for this the CR2 Sqn has 14 CR with 3 troops of 4 plus XO and CO. Think its 4 troops of 4 with CO & XO. Squadron = 18 tanks 3 squadrons = 54 tanks HQ Co & Xo = 56 tanks. Type 56 regiment.
