Panzer_Leader
With the introduction of weather effects in 3.002 and the ability to script these in the Mission Editor I now try to create weather for my scenarios that is historically accurate based on location, date and time. It's hard to do that without the necessary data and I've sourced this site which may be useful to other scenario designers: http://www.wunderground.com/Type in a location, such as Neustadt am Rubenberge in Germany, then click 'View Calendar', and you will be taken to this page: http://www.wunderground.com/history/airport/EDDV/2013/12/14/MonthlyHistory.html#calendarYou can then select the date going back a number of years to understand local weather at that time of year. Choose the 'Daily' tab and you will see, at the bottom of the page, weather conditions - including temperature, pressure, visibility, wind direction, wind speed etc. - every 20 minutes in Hannover (Neustadt am Rubenberge is a satellite of Hannover) on that date. This should give you enough data to develop quite an accurate weather model with the Steel Beasts Mission Editor for any location at any time of year. Hope it's helpful! Lt DeFault
Indeed!I used this very site for my "Burning Sands" scenario. Pretty neat to have accurate weather conditions. SB just keeps getting better. :luxhello:

Lt DeFault
The name of their web domain is pretty tasteless...I think the same thing every time I go there. Why didn't they pick another name?!
Members Ssnake
I suppose it's something they thought would be funny while they were registering the domain after a night out, and by the time that they sobered up the site already drew traffic and, well, so much else to do... so they kept it.
EMiner
More likely is that they're too young to remember who/what the Weather Underground was or that it even existed ;-)
Lt DeFault
Well, since it was revealed that Bill Ayers is a friend of the President...I doubt it. It was all over the news leading up to the election.
