Cannot get SB Pro to start

Unofrtunately I am always short on time, so I have tried to start steeelbeasts over the last few months every other week. I tried everything. I reinstalled SB Pro with admin rights enabled, I wrote Emails to Chris (who probably overlooked them after a while) and I still don't have a solution. It doesn't help that I have to start all over again after I get the time to look into this problem again always trying to remember the technical details. I am aware that I am probably breaking several dozen posting rules right now. But after ordering it last year, it arriving late me trying to fix it on my own since february.... PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help me anyway. it takes soooo much time to figure everything out again and I am just sick and tired of it.

In the last Email Chris wrote to me he asked me several questions. Here are those questions and my answers to them slightly edited. My answers are always after "->" btw.

In order for SB to work, all these items must be in place.

1. SB PRO PE installed.

-> Done using admin rights.

2. Codemeter drivers installed (If it is, you should have a codemeter

folder under "all programs" in your start menu) It SHOULD install this

when you install pro pe.

-> The folder is there

3. DX 9c installed. This does not install automatically. Win 7, Win 8

do not come with it by default, and it must be installed manually.

-> it is installed.

4. A physical codemeter stick for permanent licenses, or a virtual one

which is installed when SB Pro PE is installed.

-> The physical stick is present.

5. A license for SB Pro PE. You can check installed licenses by right

clicking the codemeter icon in your system tray, then choosing webmin.

Then click content and licenses.

-> I think I have a slight problem here. It shows me my licences sometimes and sometimes not. This just started recently. In the beginning it showed me my main licence and my secondary licence. Now I can only see my ESIm Games serial number and it says "Empty container"

If purchased many months ago, then chances are that you own 2.6 and not

the newer v3.

-> I do have v3. There were some difficulties with the package, as it did not arrive at first. After a few months I received v3 with a letter from Nils Hinrichsen. So I have this version, even though I purchased 2.6 some time ago.

If you have all those in place, and are still not getting anything when

double clicking the sb icon, then please send the newest log file under

C:\Users\username\Documents\eSim Games\Steel Beasts\logs

-> Unfortunately, there is no logfile in this folder. I have checked several times after I tried to get the game to run.

After checking today today -again- there is no logfile.

There may be something wrong with your CodeMeter stick. Please run CmDUST and send me the log file. CmDUST can be found tyoping the name in the start menu's search field, or go to the CodeMeter program group, then Tools. (don't forget to have the stick plugged in).

This will open a command line window for a short moment, then the Windows Explorer in your user account's root directory. There, you'll see a newly created file "CmDust-Result.log"

Also, can you try out your stick in different USB prots, and/or on a different computer? That's the easiest way to determine whether it's a problem with the stick itself.

thanks for your quick reply. Can't believe you are working on sundays... The file should be in the attachment, if I did it correctly.

I did try it on all my usb ports. No change. I didn't get around trying it out on another computer yet, but I don't know when I'll get the chance to do that.

Well, it's obvious from the file that your CM stick is not "present" (= is not recognized by the CodeMeter runtime). So, that's the likely cause of trouble. Wouldn't you get an error message when trying to start SB Pro?

(I don't seem to have read about that part in your initial post).

It is a long story.... I did get an error before that the stick is not present. So now I repeated it with the dongle in another port. Now finally I am receiving the familiar error: I doubleklick on the steelbeasts pro icon, and nothing happens. I can hear the harddisk working for a moment, then nothing. In the task manager I can see sbpro.exe pop up for a second. I am starting sbpro as administrator btw. And before you ask:

C:\Users\username\Documents\eSim Games\Steel Beasts\logs

is still empty.
