Members Ssnake
From "out of the garage, down the road a few hundred meters, and back into the shop"?Might be different after a few kilometers of driving.
Hedgehog
What material are the tracks made of?As a consumable I guess they must be EN8 or mild steel or another cheap alloyYou wouldn't use EN24 or another hard wearing material.....
Invader ZIM
Depends on the sensitivity and resolution of the thermal sensor as well to resolve the small temperature differences. From the video it's an export FLIR with a 9 or 7 hz refresh rate and pretty low resolution, as well as an uncooled sensor. This video is a test of a cooled system at Camp Roberts. https://youtu.be/zI35Hv0ZOR8 Thermal camera watching the M1A2 gunnery at Ft. Carson in 2002. https://youtu.be/CfHwxAL4FlQ Image through a cooled higher resolution FLIR, treads can usually easily be seen under most circumstances, even on a cold non running vehicle.
Eisenschwein
Why should a Track get noticeable hot ?That leads me to my old Question to my Drivers: "Were is the Track faster when a Tank drive 35 Km/h, Downside or Upside? "
Grenny
"Were is the Track faster when a Tank drive 35 Km/h, Downside or Upside? "In relation to the ground? Clearly the downside ;-)
