Assassin 7
There is a problem with the M1A2 SEP lead. When targets are moving slow towards your tank at an angle, you track and engage. The round is landing as if there is no lead applied. The lead is suppose to be updating every .03 seconds. This video demonstrates the lead failure:https://www.dropbox.com/s/jnsnkflymo8kuh7/SBProPE64cm_2014_10_16_17_03_48_791.avi?dl=0 m1sep-no lead-test.rar

Assassin 7
default ammo which is M829A3 sabot. It doesn't matter on the ammo select, you should still have lead after a lase.
MAJ_Fubar
I noticed this with ranges beyond 3800m and chalked it up to being out of the seat too long, but after a few more experiments, I think you're right; lead may be broke at long range. Could it be that lead isn't being accurately calculated beyond 4000m for the SEP?

If the handle movement stops lead is then set to zero. The range of the target needs to be updated in the ballistic solution. That's why you relase.
Rotareneg
The issue isn't range, it's the angular velocity of the turret. Switch to the GAS after lasing and you'll see that it appears to have a threshold below which it doesn't apply any lead. The M1A1 works fine in the same situation.Hga_bqFXWtk

Rotareneg
The video starts with a SEP, and shows the lead not working with a slow moving target, and then ends with the M1A1 with the lead working.

Moderators Volcano Posted October 17, 2014 Moderators Share Posted October 17, 2014 OK, it could be falling below some kind of lead "dead zone". We will check it out.
Members Retro
Good find! It seems to be caused by the feature of the M1A2 that cancels lead if the gunner centers his controls.. and it seems these slow-moving targets do not require sufficient control input to 'escape' that 'controls are centered' zone.. hmm
