Chicken George
Thankyou for that just couldn't find the info anywhere and also thanks for the welcome. One other question..mods, there are some that are years old..are they relevant now or have they been superseded by engine upgrades?
Gibsonm
Well there is no process of weeding out mods (mostly vehicle skins) that no longer work with the newer version. In any case people may still be using say 2.654 or earlier so there is still potential use for older mods.If a mod has a version number in the title then that is usually the baseline version to use (i.e. that or later). The best bet is to make a backup of the existing files (if the mod replaces any) and install the mod.If it works great, if not delete the mod files and restore the backup copies.
Members Ssnake
eSim Games cannot and will not guarantee that any certain mod will "survive" version changes. If a mod was uploaded for version 3.0 it's pretty safe that it'll work. Any previous mod MIGHT still work, but as Gibsonm already wrote you may need to test it first.
rob17
I think what the OP was actually asking was a generic "Are these older mods necessary or have newer unmodded standard versions changed enough that they are no longer useful (due to fixed problems or changed behaviours)?" vs "Will these older mods work with current version?". I'm not deep enough into SB to answer the first question and it no doubt varies depending on person anyway as to whether these mods were beneficial/useful or not.

Well as they only affect how things look its up to what you need. Need an East German paintjob for a T-72 in an East German scenario then download the mod. Need an Polish paintjob for a T-72 in a Polish scenario then download that mod. etc. If you don't care what your T-72 looks like, then don't worry about the mod and go with the standard paint job.
