Lt DeFault
Well...a scale model of one, really. But it is made of metal. A real "steel beast"! Hahaha! :men_ani: ... Get it? ... It's funny 'cause, nevermind. It started as two 4 inch sheets of laser cut steel: Each piece has to be punched out, bent to the correct shape and then attached to the model using tabs/slots. The instructions say, "Needle nose pliers are helpful for assembly." HA! "Tweezers are mandatory" is more like it. Here's the completed turret: The hull: Turret attached: And treads:
Lt DeFault
More shots of the final product: Tiny, huh? Took me 7 hours (and a few beers) to complete. They also have a T-34, Chi-Ha and a Sherman. There's also some other stuff you can make, but who cares about that crap? For only $10 it's not a bad deal, IMHO.
Toyguy
That is cool! Nice job on it too - those things are tough to assemble, even with the right small tools.

Tacbat
So, does the person who gave it to you like you, or not?
RogueSnake79
A playable Tiger 1, nice I got the UH-1 Huey 2 years ago for Christmas, I thought it looked cooler in the package than as a finished model. So it's still on my desk unopened
Gibsonm
So, does the person who gave it to you like you, or not? If they didn't, there would be a piece missing.
Members Ssnake
If they didn't, there would be a piece missing. A crucial, tiny part. :1:
Lt DeFault
It was my mother so, probably likes me. There were a couple of extra pieces when I finished assembling it. But that's not uncommon...for me, anyway.
Members Ssnake
Better than spotting them on the runway after take-off.
Lt DeFault
Funny, there was a commercial on the radio today about a contest for a chance at a spot in an aircraft maintenance school. Maybe I won't enter, after all.

Scrapper_511
Neat! Nice job bending the turret walls and exhaust shields(?). I don't see a single kink (not that I was scrutinizing your proficiency ). P.S. Where is the age 12 and up version with a laser cut barrel?
