Vacquero
Is there any way to set up a region to re-supply ammo to a unit? Kind of a way to simulate dug in stockpiles of shells or something like that?
Gibsonm
Is there any way to set up a region to re-supply ammo to a unit? Kind of a way to simulate dug in stockpiles of shells or something like that? Not sure if you can "repair" ammo, would have to check.Of course you could park the required ammo trucks there, have the fighting unit RV with them and conduct the replen real time. That would give the added bonus of lose the trucks, lose the ammo.Or are you after some sort of "instant" refill?
Vacquero
Kind of what I'm going for is; If an arty unit stays in a certain area, they pretty much get an instant refill. Not necessarily what would happen in RL, considering that they would shoot and scoot, but the concept I'm going for is that they can stay static, for a time. The enemy has no arty, but lot's of vehicles, so when they come rollin over the hill and the arty's position becomes untenable, then they no longer have access to the "underground bunkers".
Gibsonm
Maybe park the supply/ammo truck nearby (they have an area of influence within which they will resupply) the M109/2S1/BM21, etc. representing a M999 or similar. Its close enough to provide continuous resupply but has engine damage so if/when the guns displace the trucks can't follow. Then the M109/2S1/BM21, etc. are limited to their on board load out.Of course if the Enemy destroy the trucks then the same result is achieved. Is that a viable work around?
Vacquero
It is. I was just looking for a way to reduce the clutter. Thank you.
Gibsonm
Be aware though that the resupply process brings the gun back to its default ammunition allocation. If in the scenario design you have for some reason drastically cut the HE loadout and increased say Smoke, then post resupply you will be back to the default allocations, not your "special" one for the specific mission.I can't remember the numbers, but if the default allocation is:90% HE, 10% Smk and you adjust to say 40% HE, 60% Smk, post resupply you will be back to 90% HE, 10% Smk.
Rotareneg
You can use a trigger to damage and then repair units, which will rearm them too: http://www.steelbeasts.com/sbforums/showpost.php?p=269079&postcount=9

Rotareneg
Just checked, and it resets the ammo back to the specified amounts. So if you had artillery with nothing but ICM and then resupplied with trucks which loaded HE and smoke, you'd go back to all ICM after using the repair all function.
Vacquero
Figured out how to do it with regions and conditions. You have to damage the main gun and ammo storage, and then repair it.
