Grenny Posted February 26, 2015 Share Posted February 26, 2015 (edited) Situation update. 120800Zjan19 ENEMY: -enemy advance attack with airmech forces near PYÖRYLÄ neutralized -attack of MechRgt 11(BTR) stopped east of SELÄNPÄÄ airfield -MechRgt 13(BMP) currently massing around HAAPALA -MechRgt 12(BTR) spotted on the march at Road 377 /369 near TOUHIKOTTI Probable CoA: Continue attack west IOT force breaktrhough at SWECOYs or by bypassing north IOT still reach the crossing near PYÖRYLÄ OWN: After the succesfull attack of DANCOY against the enemy AA-operation near PYÖRYLÄ, the company moved southeast to link up on SWECOYs right. FINCOY(NBG) moved to the left and NORCOY remained as NBG's reserve. FINBAT still holding Positions around SELÄNPÄÄ In the further course of the battle the inserted long-range patrols (mission 1) remained vital. The enabled STREJKE and Finnish artillery to conduct devastating fire missions against the RAG's of 11 and 13th mech Rgt. 130800Zjan19 (Situation ENEMY/OWN see attached maptrace) "ENEMY": Mounted patrol from the mixed recon BN where able to pass the enemy recon screen from the south and got as far north as HAUKJÄRVI. With eyes on the enemy they where able to "speak in" and attack from TF VALKYRIE. This whiped out most of the DAG as well as most combat power of MechBN 132 (BMP-3) After that SAF from positions north of HAUKJÄRVI forced the Tigers and Apache to retire. ENEMY RP/CRP in company(-) strenght toward VALKEALA have been intercepted and destroyed by right neighbour (PORI Brigade) ENEMY has now insufficient artillery to support a forced breach of the minefields in front of SWECOY and DANCOY. Ice cover is currently not strong enough to withstand MBT or IFV yet, but S2/Geo predicts this for the next 2-3 day. This will increase the movement abilities of the currently resticted enemy. Enemy: unchanged(see post #1) North of own patrols in HAUKJÄRVI area only weak enemy pickets detected. SigINT and artillery Observation data suggest HQ elements and at least one enemy battery PAA, protected by AD-units, in that area Own: MIXED RECON BN currently in screening operation with all units along the line HAUKJÄRVI-MAUNO-HÄKKÄNEN IOT deny enemy FOM southwards and threaten enemy LOC's TF VALKYRIE still in support fom Staging area south west of KOUVOLA Mission: HQ see the possibility to give RED a good kick in the groin. If all goes well, this could be exploited by bringing in Airassault troops to bottle up the enemy TASK: -recon location of the enemy PAA -temporarily cease screening operation in the HAUKJÄRVI area, IOT concentrate patrols for a raid against the PAA and -secure a LZ for own Air-assault operation(planned for NLT 140300Z) at the frozen lake HAUKJÄRVI -obtain intel(maps/ radio-charts, Krypto-material) from enemy positions, bring in prisoners if possible -resume screening operation once air assault has been conducted The enemy guns and AD-systems have to be taken out IOT ensure a safe landing of TF VAKYRIE!!! IIRC, the last time I crewed a CRV(T) (Mission 1, I think) I was able to use the gunner's position and engage a couple or three enemy recce vehicles. Now when I call up the Wiki for an update and practice, I see that the gunner's position is a "work in progress." And now it looks as if the TC can only give direction to the AI gunner through keystrokes, and the gunner then engages...or not.
