Mission Summary :

Current situation: Tensions are high due to a high level insurgent activity, and ISIS in the area. The city of Baqubah has become more dangerous over the last few weeks. The city leadership most likely under duress from ISIS and insurgent forces, has been uncooperative with coalition forces or the Iraqi Army (IA). They have stated that coalition or IA forces are not welcome in their city, and if any are to come into the city, the insurgency will rise up against them. Intel shows that the insurgency is backed by ISIS, and it is possible they will come to their aid. This will most likely happen if coalition forces or IA enter the city. The IA has setup checkpoints at the road entries to the city, and the city has let this happen.

Current operations are on hold, but on standby alert should anything kick off. Alpha company is the current alert unit consisting of a mixed US and NATO forces at Airbase Balad/Camp Anaconda. Orders for Alpha to follow, be prepared, and standby. All orders will come from Balad base command.

1) SITUATION:

a) Enemy:

Tensions are high. Insurgent forces are just waiting for a reason to attack, and take over the city of Baqubah. They are most likely equipped with small arms, RPGs, technical’s, and mortars. It is possible that ISIS has supplied them with heavier equipment, and weapons. ISIS is operating in the area, mostly to the Southeast. They are equipped with many different vehicles and weapons. They could have anything from cold war era PCs, tanks, and other vehicles, to modern AFVs to include captured IA equipment. They do not have any fire support other than mortars.

b) Own:

Alpha company on standby alert at Balad Air base consisting of 2 platoons of M2A2, 2 platoons of CV90, 1 platoon of M1A2, 1 platoon of Leo 2A5A2DK, support units, and high level of indirect fire assets. .

c) Attachments and detachments:

Cobra attack helicopters, air assault, and UAV. Bravo is on standby if needed. (reduction in points if used -300). Base security forces. .

2) MISSION:

Alpha company on alert is to maintain a vigilant ready posture. If called upon the alert company is to maintain a safe and secure area of operations. You are tasked with dealing with any insurgent forces in the area, and move to and defeat any ISIS units in the area or encountered.

3) EXECUTION: Alpha 1-167CAV is to maintain readiness in order to defeat insurgent or ISIS forces in the area of operations, and be prepared to move out to conduct counter insurgent operations.

Intent: Intent: Alpha 1-167CAV will stay ready, and be prepared to conduct counter insurgent operations in the AO, in order to defeat insurgent or ISIS forces in sector, and maintain a safe and secure environment for the city and area of Baqubah.
