hey there,i have some problems adding skins..

the skins from the download section are in .bmp format while the skins in the texture folder are in .dds format.

the skins wont show up in the game,any idee how i can fix this?

You need to put the skins into the correct folder for one thing, not your C:/program files/esim etc folder but your C:\Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\eSim Games\Steel Beasts\mods\textures...followed by the appropriate folder woodland, desert etc. It doesnt matter if it's in .bmp format, it will still show up. the sim looks for textures in the mods folder first.

If you want to convert the files into .dds format then you can find free converters on the net that will do that for you in a few seconds.

thanks for the info,i found out that i had to remove some added text to the .BPM

Also, if you have the same file, one in .dds and the other in .bmp, SB will use the .dds file first.

oke so the best thing is to confert the new skin from .bpm format to .dds format....

That sucks big time because the most added skins are .bpm

The Sim will load a little faster if everything is in .dds format, but don't worry about converting everything over to that format.

.bmp files are still good.

I found out that the bpm format doesnt work anymore,since i changed the skins from .bpm to .dds with DDS converter i can use the new skins,otherwise no go!
