SB Crashing after about 10 Minutes

ChanceBS

Recommended Posts

SB continues to crash during network sessions. Crashes to desktop after only a few minutes.

Does not appear to be a local PC issue, but ya never know.

I have tried to attach CmDust log, but forum server is not allowing.

Trying to rule out a Code Meter Problem.

Codemeter has been checked and is up to date, although it is almost eight years old.

Thanks for any help on this. As right now Steel Beast is a broken Sim to me.

Can you run SB Pro in windowed mode for a network session and see if there's an error message lurking in the background (it would not get displayed while SB Pro is in fullscreen mode) so if it is indeed a license/CodeMeter related issue that simply times out, the error message would disappear after SB Pro has been terminated, so you wouldn't actually get to see the connection.

If CodeMeter can be ruled out as the source of trouble:

In your Windows user account's root folder (typically C:\Users\Your User Name\AppData\Local\CrashDumps) you may find files named "SBPro.... .dmp". If smaller than 5 MByte, can you zip 'em and send them to me by email?

Also, the debugLog files that you took while in "debug mode"; the regular logging mode doesn't tell much.

Well, let's defer judgment until we have actually SOLVED the issue.

For everyone else reading this: When asked to send DMP files, please compress them before sending them. They compress quite well.

It doesn't look to me as a CodeMeter issue. The protocol doesn't show disconnects of your CM stick, and the CM stick has a 3.0 license on it, so I think we'll concentrate our investigation on other aspects. Also, please respond at your earliest convenience to my request to play a multiplayer session in windowed mode to see if there's some background error message.

I've been out of the office for the whole week, so I'm not yet fully up to date about the latest news from all team members.

Questions about your personal, ongoing investigation are best sent by email. I can follow up on them easier for a variety of reasons.
