mpow66m
If possible can some one make a callsign template for a DE battlion circa 1988?
Members Ssnake
It's simple, really; going by company:1./PzBtl 3332./PzBtl 3333./PzBtl 3334./PzBtl 333 ... and that's it, mostly. During wartime there might be a 5./PzBtl 333 for replacements. 1st company is the logistics COY with a transport platoon (trucks), a recce platoon (motorcycles and Mercedes G), the repair shop with ARVs and Unimog trucks, the comms platoon with M113 command post vehicles (forming the BN HQ).Platoons get Roman numbers - I, II, III. However, the callsigns would be Alfa, Bravo, Charlie, and Delta, so arguably it would be justified to substitute the roman numerals by letters here.Vehicles get numbered -2, -3, -4, platoon leader has no designation (mentally, treat him as -1), so the fourth vehicle of the third platoon of the second company would beIII-4/2./PzBtl 333Panzer battalions 333 and 334 would operate in the Beedenbostel area, by the way. Their barracks is to the northwest corner of the map. Assigned to them would be the PzGrenBtl 332, and the the PzArtBtl 335, the independent tank destroyer company 33, and, probably operating idependently, the PzAufklBtl 331 (armored recce battalion with two Luchs companies and one Leopard 1A5 company).

Grenny
Vehicles get numbered -2, -3, -4, platoon leader has no designation (mentally, treat him as -1), so the fourth vehicle of the third platoon of the second company would beIII-4/2./PzBtl 333Just a note: Currently this is not 100% correct anymore. (was it so in 1988??)For example,Vehicles in the 1st- Platoons are numbered: A, A-1,A-2,A-3With A beeing the platoon leader and A-2 the section leader 2nd section(and dept. plt-leader).Over radio you call the:"ALPHA" (when contacting the plt-leader or the whole platoon)"ALPHA-one (two , three)" when contacting individual vehicles.Companies and above will get callsigns.(Some random noun)On one exercise my company's callsign "GARTENERDE".

D u k e
Servus,no.A german company commander has 2 NCOs in his HQ platoon. One of these NCOs is the First Sergeant or company sergeant or we say Spieß.The other NCO is the operational sergeant he helps him to plan the duty rota or to plan the training for the company, organization of trips to special training areas etc...cheersD u k e

D u k e
Servus,I don`t know, in the german army a First Sergeant can have the rank of a Sergeant First Class, Master Sergeant or Sergeant Major. My operational Sergeant can be a Sergeant First Class or a Master Sergeant.I also need a short cut for the reconnaissance and liaison platoon (R&L PLT?).In german that means Aufklärungs- und Verbindungszug [AVZ]. cheersD u k e

D u k e
Servus,it`s ready if you only want to use the fighting vehicles. In the .rar is a scenario file.I can recommend to create a folder "tank battalion HS4" under:C:\Users\xxx\Documents\eSim Games\Steel Beasts\export\Template Callsign\and to export the different templates in this folder.cheersD u k e

D u k e
Servus, in your time frame the german army had also Mixed Tank Battalions. 1 MechInfCO with 3 platoons (3x IFV Marder in each platoon) and 1 independent group 2 Tank CO with 3 platoons (4x Leo in each platoon) in this template only the A2, B2, C2 and D callsings of 2./121 have MILAN. If you want to use the MILAN dismounted you have to change the MG Squad to a MILAN team. I can recommend to create a folder "German army mixed tank battalion HS4 (1980-1990)" under: C:\Users\xxx\Documents\eSim Games\Steel Beasts\export\Template Callsign\ The .cst files are now in the .rar. cheers D u k e Template German Mixed Tank Battalion (1980-1990).rar
