    I. Situation


        a. General. The Democratic Republic of Gorgas is a small yet fiercely independent state in a fragile and dangerous area.

     

    The country’s primary strength is geographical—- its Black Sea ports and land borders make it a logical pipeline route and regional outlet to the outside world.

    Gorgas remains among the smallest and least economically developed nations in the region. It currently exists in a state of “frozen conflict” with attempts to block Gorgas from NATO and EU membership.

     

    In the last 96hours, its northern neighbor, Donovia, invaded with the intent to seize critical infrastructure in/around Gudauta in order to gain a strategic link to the Black Sea.

     

    Gorgan Armed Forces have been fighting hard, but have been broken and forced to retrograde to the city of Gudauta where they are barely holding on against the Donovian onslaught.

     

    NATO forces have immeidately mobilized and are launching an amphibious force to land in vicinity of Gudauta to hold the Donovian defenders and re-establish Gorgas sovreinty.

     

        b. Enemy.

     

    In our area of operations, the Donovian forces have attacked with the 804th Mechanized Briagde- we are seeing one motorized battalion, equipped with BMD and light wheeled vehicles established in/around Gudauta (airport & city) serving as a disruption force while its two armor Battalions can reinforce.

     

    We anticipate a deliberate defense of the areas around OBJ BADGER and COW with at least one company of BMP2's, with the ability to be quickly reinforced by T-72B3 tanks [T72M4]. The 804th also possess at least 3x batteries of 2S19 Artillery and 2x batteries of SA-9 air defense.

     

        b. Friendly.

     

    The Gorgas 901st Infantry Brigade has mostly collapsed in their retrograde from the north and their defense of Gudauta. We do not anticipate their ability to launch any offensive action to re-seize terrain. A and C Co (Amphibious) are prepared to land and re-establish defenses around Gudauta. At H+40 minutes, B CO (Armor) will arrive at its landing zone on the map.

     

    II. Mission. 

     

    Attack to seize key terrain to re-establish

     

    III. Execution.

     

    The initial attack consists of an amphibious force of LAV vehicles, while heavy armor from B CO is en route, and will arrive in approximately 40 minutes. To the north, recon troops from F CO are staged in a recon hide and prepared to move out. C CO (amphib) forces will also simultaneously attack into the city.

            iii. Seize OBJ COW

     

        End State
            i. Donovian forces are defeated or Destroyed

    A CO has an organic Support LAV, B CO will arrive with organic medical and supply assets, and Fox Recon has an organic resupply vehicle with it.

    Shadows of An Empire
    by Apocalypse

     

    I. SITUATION.

        a. General.

    Enemy forces attacked into the area to seize the Khandera Oil Fields but were forced to retrogade after a significant air and naval campaign by coalition forces.

     

    Enemy forces retrograded from the coast at the first signs of the coalition ground invasion.

    However, in their retreat they were successful in destroying the oil production infrastructure as well as preserving most of their combat power to the north of Nabarib Mountains.

     

    A coalition forces ground assault force has just landed and is prepared to expel enemy forces.

     

        b. Enemy.

    The enemy was able to preserve a sizeable force; we expect at least two battalions of mechanized infantry (BMP-2) supported by a third battalion of T-62 tanks.

    The enemy was also able to preserve its fire support and air defense systems, and will use them to support a network around their HQ to the north.

    The enemy force also maintains a Brigade scout platoon of fast-attack jeeps mounted with ATGMs.

     

    The exact enemy scheme of maneuver is unknown - especially since they retrograded from the area - however, expect the enemy to employ their scout platoon across a broad front to locate and disrupt friendly movement in the area.

     

    Expect mechanized infantry battle positions (company or platoon) in key terrain positions within the AO, and expect the enemy to use their tanks in a mobile defense - the T-62 is underpowered, but the enemy can mass them at any point.
        
        c. Friendly.

    A mixed US brigade combat team has offloaded in the area.

     

    It is equipped with a mix of Strykers and the US Army's newly fielded Mobile Protected Firepower systems (squint very hard!).

    A piecemeal Task Force consists of 4x Recon Platoons (Stryker Dragoon) equipped with dismounted ATGMs, 3x platoons from a Stryker Weapons Troop (Stryker MGS), and a company of light tanks.

     

    MISSION - Attack to clear the enemy C2 / HQ node from the area north of Al Rakia to disintegrate command and control for enemy forces in the area.

    I did see lot of effort to create planned routes for combat maintenance units to take that burden from my shoulders on saved plan and map overlay

     

    @Assassin 7 could you just please delete that opfor plan picture. Please?  All i remember of it for sure is that there was forces on Apache pilot area. But it wouldn't have changed my plan anyways as me and Martin already concluded that there probably is enemy forces there. Because many reasons. 

     

    1 there's cap in green units in that southern part of Map. 

    2 apache was downed and it would be logical for enemy to push to Capture that tech / pilot0

    3 enemy present market is indication / hint as well.

    Operation Saber Tip Kanium
     
    1) SITUATION:
        a) Enemy:
        [Russian 399th Battalion have moved southwest and taken over objective Felix which is in Grim Reapers Country.

    Grim Reapers units have been defeated to the point they can no longer hold and had to retreat southwest into Kanuim's sector.

     

    Intel reports that a Russian Battalion has move into the Grim Reapers sector and has set up defenses with AA Defenses to prevent any counter attacks from Kanium. During this attack Russian AA managed to shoot down one of our AH-64 Apache's.

     

    The Grid location is 9981 5224. Kanuim Company needs to go and secure the location and then extract the pilots from that location back to the Kanuim AA.  ]

  8. Personally and with no drama, then I am so sick and tired of hearing about "fake news". And usually from journalists and politicians who are as fake as they come.

    Any news from any warzone regardless of who brings it will be biased. Any politician regardless of his or hers country and party are biased. Every journalist regardless of network is biased - plus some of them are VERY biased and not terribly competent.

    This is nothing new, with modern media then the volume of biased and manipulative information have just gotten bigger. And the competence and knowledge base of some "journalists", in sharp decline.

     

    ALL news have ALWAYS had elements of being "fake", whatever that shallow and meaningless phrase is supposed to mean.


    So digest news and information with a critical mindset in general and base your opinion on sources with different views. And reflect on those with the available data at hand ... and maybe just maybe ... you do not have enough data to have a firm opinion on a matter and need to learn more to reach a informed decision.

    And dont let anyone else tell you what to think, mean or feel. Certainly not a politician or journalist, who are about as credible and reliable as a used car salesman in a backlot.

    Have discussions with other people, listen to their arguments and having reflected on what they say or write, then meet their arguments with your own if you disagree. And listen to their reply. 

     

    You do not need to agree with them to have a meaningful discourse. In fact I often learn much more discussing with people I disagree with, than with people I agree with.

     

    As long as they argue with facts and not just their opinions then its worth it IMHO, in order to broaden your scope and view on a subject.

    You might reach the point where you agree to disagree. And that is OK.

    But make up YOUR mind ...

     

    Do not let yourself be treated like a sheep by people who try to make THEIR opinion the "right" one and paint every one who disagrees with them as project "disinformation" or "fake news".

    First:

    Love your sessions and love your crew:

    Dont change either.

    ad. 1 Maybe its because I personally sadly dont have so much time to jump in before gametime. That doesnt mean its bad. It takes time to get to know each other.
    So have patience and stay your course would be my humble recommendation.

     

    ad. 2 Maybe steering people together that EITHER have basically the same level OR pair a new guy with an experienced ?
    I can honestly say that the mission I did with Lusik was one of the best I have played. He really knew his stuff and we worked very well together.
    But learning other peoples SOP´s and procedures takes time. And there is not ONE right way to do everything.

    You can learn from anyone, but its hard to change all the time. So maybe let those who work well together work more with each other so you do not need to start from scratch every time?

     

    ad. 3 With respect: IMHO the M60A3TTS is not that hard compared to say the T72, Centauro or CV9035DK. There are pros and cons to always using the same vehicles. Again there is not ONE right way to do it. And I seem to remember that people voted for the M60?

     

    Ad. 4 its really REALLY difficult to make a scenario that fits a precise timeline. So I see 2 realistic options and 1 not really a solution.
    Option 1: call ENDEX at the appointed time and do a review of what has been achieved and if we succeeded-
    Option 2: make a ingame-save and continue next session. Minus is that the next one might be short.

     

    The not really a solution: tell people that the around 1 hour is indication and not a firm timeline. Kanium missions are set at 3 hours but usually takes around 2. I try to tell in advance if its a bigger one. 

     

    But dont drop everything, because your sessions are good.

     

    Training is good - maybe switich it up so every third mission is training?

     

    OR

     

    Have a little bit of training in EVERY mission. In prebrief and debrief ?

     

    ad. 5 Per 2, maybe rotate new guys with the other guys but let people form more stable crews aisde from that ?
    New guys is how we keep this game alive ...

     

    Please NO ranks ... I think all the people who have served dont need that. Who ever is CO, PLT LDR and PLT SGT is the one who gives orders. And you can give input, but those orders are not to be challenged.

    We have voluntary dicipline. The voluntary part is whether you play or not...

    Operation Charger II
    by Apocalypse and Ben

     

    I. SITUATION   
     
        a. Enemy.


            Our success in Sayra didn't break their backs. The enemy retrograded from Sayra and has regrouped for another attack, an attempt to gain what they've previously lost. We expect their attack to focus on the crossing points along the Trevira River with the goal of re-taking Sayra.

     

        b. Friendly.  


            To our north, the 2nd Battalion seized Gakas and is preparing to attack along the northern axis to protect our flank. Our BN HQ has jumped to Sayra and re-established its Unit Maintenance Control Point (UMCP)
     

    II. MISSION: Your combat team attacks to clear enemy forces from Cantavo

    Also, I tried to set up teamspeak but realize I think I need a new headset with microphone.  My Xbox one only has one plug and won't pick up the mic.  Any suggestions on what to get?

     

    Most people start by being a gunner for an experienced player - but entirely up to you

     

    As for comms, then you dont need concert quality. A headset with a microphone is what most people use. But alternatively a standalone microphone. I dont know what fits an Xbox
